Alignments and Fashion

I'm not sure about Good versus Evil.

I do think it applies to Law versus Chaos. Lets face it, shiny armor and white robes are a real pain to maintain out in the field. It takes discipline to keep those things looking good.

Hey, the head (Lawful Evil) of the Hobbit Mafia Halflings Legitimate Businessbeings' Society wears a white suit, a panama hat, and sports a cane with a gold handle.

We love you, Sidney Verdantpath! :p

Supporting my theory...which belongs to me. :)

Once I had this campaign feature called the Hall of Mirrors- it's a major artifact thing that shows those who walk through it the alternate versions of themselves, and then stores them. So a good character would see neutral and evil and non-human versions of themselves, and then later if I want to do an evil twin episode, I can.

Ok, so the players are going through it, seeing all the distorted versions of themselves. One NPC was a female spellcaster. It went something like "and Lara is there in the mirror too. She looks the same except hotter, wearing a black leather miniskirt, fishnets, high boots, and a spike-adorned corset thing. Instead of her normal staff, she is carrying a whip..."

haha.

Yeah, I have issues.

Because they can get away with it.

Seriously. Everyone here would dress in spiked armor and skulls if they could, at least on occasion. Don't lie, you would. It'd be a blast. But people would laugh at you. So only if you're evil, and can therefore kill said people indescriminately, can you get away with wearing such an outfit.

;)

Okay, this is going in my Sig.

Why do the evil spellcaster females dress so provocatively?
'Cause evil is sexy. :]

But, to defend, lots of good-aligned females apparently wear chain-mail bikinis. So it evens out.

(Although all I can say is ouch. That looks like it would pinch.)

I suggest that in D&D your moral view (alignment) also determines your sense of style (fashion). It's the only possible explanation. :D
But this would rule out my friend Phil's paladin Hades Niffleheim, who looked like Rob Halford and dressed in black spiky plate :D

Because in D&D alignment is a real and tangible force in the multiverse, and it affects and colours everything in that multiverse.
Whoa...really now?

I've also noticed that evil males, regardless of character class, if they have a high charisma they've got nipple piercings.

Advice to evil, high charisma males: don't take off your shift, the PCs will catch on to you really quick!

Though admittedly, such piercings are kinda cool, which is probably why a high number of evil NPCs in my games seem to have them. Or it might be peer pressure among fiends, or something like that.
