Alright well I know there's a SW II thread...

I was talking about The Matrix. The only real plot holes in the Star Wars movies come from peoples assumptions ...ect....

Funny, that is exactly what I was say about the Matrix.

PS - Doc it was a joke. I knew which movie you were referring to.

I got the feeling that Mace is the perfect example of extreme arrogance among the Jedi.

Related to the Dooku ---- Maul thing.

Dooku is a fallen Jedi Master. He is not some Sith lackey like Maul (a cool character in his own right). Though in the end I suspect he will be a Sith punk/cannon fodder.

PS - don't remember who posted the Mace Windu falling to Boba thing.

Never happen. Mace has to die at the hands of Sidious. He is the "baddest of the bad among the Jedi." His death will show Anakin what true power really is.

DocMoriartty, you read my mind, but that still doesn't mean Boba Fett should be able to take out Mace Windu. Not unless it's a REAL cheap shot, i.e. Mace is mixing it up with someone who's actually a challenge and Boba sneaks up behind him.

Boba Fett- the original Darth Maul: all flash, no substance.

Sorta like the Matrix. Sorry Eosin, but the plot and "philosophy" of that movie are the products of a hack (probably a group of them. I never bothered to look). The entire movie was designed backwards. They took as many visually "cool" elements as they could and then concocted a story that would allow them to use all of them. A great deal of the backstory makes no sense unless you realize that each and every element was there to justify the presence of a visual effect or a "wow" factor.

That is where we disagree. There is no indication that Fett is all flash and no substance. He did do with ease (find Solo) when no one else could.

I admit I want Fett to kill Mace as some poetic justice. Mace killed his father, and we could have meaning to that line from Empires.

Alright, it may have been a harsh judgement on my part, but all that really proves is that he can track people. The first time we saw him in battle, he went out even easier than Jango did.

I was disappointed by that. While I was never impressed with Boba in the OT, Jango was cool.

His punked out death aside, Fett was the best bounty hunter in the business. His credentials have been established in both canon and non-canon material. He also worked for both Hutt and Vader and delivered on both counts. You don't work for two of the most powerful people in the galaxy by sucking ass at your job (again, his death scene aside). **** happens now and then... even to the best of 'em.

Well, I don't really read much of the books, and movies are a visual medium, and Lucas is a VERY visual storyteller. If Lucas wanted Boba Fett to appear THAT impressive, he would have shown him DOING something impressive, like he did for Jango. I'm reserving judgement on Boba until Ep III.

Come to think of it the Emperor didnt even get a great death. He died from a fall that as we saw in AOTC's just about any Jedi would have easily survived. I guess to a degree a Sith Lord gives up some of his physical powers as he gains more ability to cloud the mind.
