Really?

That's what I thought of back in 1980 when I cracked open my 1e PHB and saw all that "Master of the East Wind", "Grand Master of Flowers" stuff.

On the other hand, "Iron Sigil" "Serpent Eye" and "Golden Wyvern" appear to belong to a more generic western-themed fantasy tradition.
