OK, WotC, you're now two for two on these alternate covers.
I love the fluidity of the image and the colour palette. I also like the serene expression on Lolth's face while wrapping up some poor victim. It's unsettling. I'm not an artist (like at all!) but the image, the colour and the gold scrolling in the corners all tie together beautifully. It's fine, but boring. It's a static image. She's doing very little, there is little in the background, there is not much adventure implied. Why are you guys so gah gah over this?
It looks like it might be a sticker. I hope it is.Only issue is the bar code. I'm sorry but please, if they could find a better solution that would be great.
Lolth is quietly spinning her web of secrets and intrigue, with a delightful doom in store for the plucky adventurer caught in her web. She's quite the DM!It's fine, but boring. It's a static image. She's doing very little, there is little in the background, there is not much adventure implied. Why are you guys so gah gah over this?
Aren't most images static? I didn't see the motion enable holo cover. It's fine, but boring. It's a static image.
I think that's fitting. She's the spider queen. She sits back, and gently, and patiently weaves her web, waiting for her prey to come to her. It's the perfect motif for a villain, which seems to be the desired theme for the DMG. They sit back and watch their plans play out, waiting for the heroes to present themselves to them. She's doing very little, there is little in the background,
I like the other covers.. They scream "Rah! Adventure! Dungeons, Zombies, Dragons! This is what D&D is!" but I like these too. As someone who has already experienced that side of D&D I can appreciate that these covers represent a different side of the game. The downtime between the Adventure and the Dungeons, where the character growth plays out. The villain behind the Zombies and Dragons, pushing the pieces and pulling the strings, the representation of the DM.there is not much adventure implied. Why are you guys so gah gah over this?
