Alternate Form/Polymorph question

A young gold dragon is size L and has the following abilities: Str 25, Dex 10, Con 17, Int 16, Wis 17, Cha 16.

He also has the Alternate Form Special Ability ability.

What stats does he have in human form ? (I.e. what are the racial and size ability modifiers of a young dragon. Do you have to apply the size increase modifiers from Improving a monster in reverse for the size change from L to M ?)

No size mods, just straight treat the dragon as straight 10's and 11's: everything else is a racial modifier. Same as any other monster.

Starbuck_II is correct. For a dragon, Alternate Form is primarily useful for disguise and subterfuge. Posing as an old man or young maiden are pretty standard ploys.

Dragons of Eberron provided some additional options, however.

The Hidden Strength feat (prerequisites: true dragon, ability to assume alternate form, sorceror level 5th) provides +8 Str and +4 Con, not to exceed the dragon's scores in its normal form.

There is another feat with the same prereqs that allows the dragon to assume Half-Dragon form, a 1st level Sorceror spell that provides the dragons full abilities, natural armor, and damage reduction for 1 round as an immediate action, and another feat that grants Alternate Form (Medium or smaller animal or humanoid 3/day.)
