but I can't seem to find (a most helpful) SEARCH function anywhere on these boards...

Search was removed and made availiable to only community supporters a few years back. The search function when it was free was being used a lot and really ate up the board resources causing EN World to be really really slow durting the peak hours. Also, it is a free site that takes money to opperate so it encourages people to donate money and become a community supporter. So, no you are not blind.

Unless you can afford to become a community supporter, in which case I've heard the 'real deal' is a lot better anyway.
