IWhat's "homebrewn?" I only see this word on ENWorld. Is it an in-joke?
It means a campaign setting you've designed yourself, as opposed to a commercial setting like Forgotten Realms or Eberron.

No, that's "homebrewed." "Homebrewn" isn't a word in the English language, but it gets used a lot around here (by native English speakers).

Reg: New releases and some old one

I also bought Into the Green and into the Blue and I don't think they're that bad, after all Into the Green has one thing going for it, namely the spell Shade a 0th level spell that acts a bit like Endure Elements in that it acts as cover for direct sunlight.
I have no intention of letting any DM i play with know about "that" but I am planning a KOK game where undead do play a part and kind of like the idea of using that spell to let a vampire wander round in broad daylight protected by the equivalent of a magic umbrella with darkness cast underneath it (Order of the Stick in case you wondered).
Have been buying all the Eberron stuff and consider Magic Incarnum the worst product I've bought, I guess I should have read the review before buying it. Have yet to run anything Eberron related but unlike the others I play in a d&d game with I have no problems with psionics although I still consider it dreadful that they introduced power points for arcane and divine spells yet ignored reversing that idea for psionics and yes my favourite combination character class is the Psion Monk talk about an obvious overkill!
Looking forward to that Sarlona release, it will provide some necessary details on how such a society works and its opposition...

I'd love to see a book streight on dungeons. Maybe that'll be the year of the dungeon (with all the bwa bwa on "dragons are in the name and iconic" there'd better be some limelight for the other iconic namepart of the game)

Actually a Year of the Dungeon sounds pretty cool and fairly likely. Since the adventure that month is Barrow of the Forgotten King and a Barrow is another name for a tomb (and we all know how good dungeons, tombs make) you might be right on the money with that idea. I know I'd love a year where every month had a dungeon themed adventure. Have 3 FR specific, 3 Eberron specific and 6 generic. I'd pick up everything bar the Eberron ones.

Same here.

Next up for me would be Planes of Eberron, followed by Secrets of Argonnessen. Or maybe Monsters of Eberron. Or they could do a sourcebook called City of Monsters or something detailing Greywall and Droamm; I think this might appeal more to a wider audience than just Eberron DMs. I would like to see a sourcebook for all of the other areas on Khorvaire too. I would also like to see books that detail the past. I'd really like to see an Age of Demons sourcebook that shows the landscape millions of years ago. They could either detail Khyber in this sourcebook or perhaps in another separate book along with Siberys.

I'd love to see a Monsters of Eberron. Specifically, I'd like it to be the same size as a Monster Manual book, with the MMIV layout, but with writeups for classic D&D monsters as well as a few new.

I'd like to see a few pages on goblins, kobolds, orcs, bugbears, gnolls, trolls, and the like, with feats and options for them and info on how they fit into Eberron (maybe as PCs). Tack on about 30-40 other "classic" monsters and 10 new ones, and you'd have a sweet product.

Well, then I think we can enter a debate on whether this is a sign of the evolution of language or a sign that the school system is underfunded. Personally, I think the latter. Or it could be a hongism, like "ninjae".

As for the release schedule... it looks interesting, and I'll probably buy them all. I just wish the books were larger. The 160-page books take up too much shelf space for their actual page count and amount of useful material.

Secrets of Sarlona is a very welcome addition. I like new psionics stuff.

Is there anything else out in January? Just wondering if I've missed another thread like this one somehow.

I couldn't find anything else for January on Amazon, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. Finding new releases on Amazone is like finding a needle in a haystack, especially when looking for releases that are still so far away.

Cheers!

When I posted Complete Scoundrel pre-crash, there wasn't any other release for January on Amazon.ca, and the Player's Kit was mis-placed as a February 07 release. But I don't find it really hard to find those books. ;)
