[AMBIENT] Kid's Colouring Book o Critters

HellHound

ENnies winner and NOT Scrappy Doo
the Ambient Inc. team will be hanging at GenCon with our publisher / partner in crime, Mystic Eye Games.

We'll be showing off Librum Equitis volume 1 (print edition) as well as having a demonstration copy of ENnie nominated "Thee Compleat Librum ov Gar'Udok's Necromantic Artes" for you to peruse. A larger version of Gar'Udok is going to print from Mystic Eye Games under the title of Necromancer's Legacy.

We'll have in hand, copies of the elegant staple-bound "Kid's Colouring Book o Critters" for the d20 system, which will be hawked by the authors during the Con, Chrystine and Genevieve Robinson, probably the two youngest d20 writers in the industry (Chrys is 6, Genevieve is 10). Grab one for your kids, it even comes with crayons.

We'll also be playing some Giant Monster Rampage at the MEG booth, and people interested can join myself and Teflon Billy for a game of Villains and Vigilantes on Saturday (just drop by and tell me you are interested).

You can also catch us occasionally at the RPGnow booth, showing off the electronic versions of Librum Equitis volumes 1 & 2 as well as Thee Compleat Librum ov Gar'Udok's Necromantic Artes and Portable Hole Full of Beer (all of which you can buy at the RPGnow booth!)

... any truth to the rumour that these 'kids' will be acquiring WotC soon? :D

I can't wait to see this coloring book! Very cool. I can't wait to meet the mini-hounds and here them speak some French for me!

And oh yeah, Lots of Giant Monster Rampaging will be going on!!!

It has been soooooo long since I have played V&V I can hardly remember it.

That would depend on the price of WotC, and whether it would still leave enough cash to buy a horse for the farm (the not-very-secret goal of the girls).

Supplies VERY Limited!

We made 50 copies of the Kids Colouring Book o' Critters.
And 10 will most likely be used as bargaining chips for convention swag by the girls.
So if you want a copy, rush to the Mystic Eye Games booth Thursday afternoon, or you may miss out!
$2 each for a digest-sized, 36-page book. Fourteen monsters and a new domain.
And even though Chrystine doesn't know how to write in cursive yet, she has agreed to try and sign her name with her sister if anyone wants autographs from the youngest published d20 authors & illustrators.

Awww, now I feel bad that I didn't buy a copy! I thought you were just getting submissions; I didn't catch that it was actually available to buy. Please tell me you'll have this available for pdf download soon! From the samples I saw, it should be a great addition to any gaming family.

OT: Congrats on the Ennie!!

This didn't seem worthy of a whole new thread, so I'll congratulate Ambient here for winning the Ennie! Awesome!!

I'm just miffed that I missed the ceremony (long story involving a failed save against confusion and some thoroughly unhelpful orc guards). You mentioned you would call me out if you won, but hope you weren't standing there saying "Is that dead guy here?" ;)

But the Coloring Book was very cool. I especially liked the blank sheets. Great idea, I just wished it was figured more prominently since at leat when I was there, it was sort of shoved off to the side.

In Time for Xmas

We're releasing an expanded, "Celebrity Edition" of the Kid's Colouring Book in November. Half the proceeds go towards the girls buying a pony, the other half goes towards our local library.
The working name for the product is currently "Get 'Em Young" or "Operation Gamer Orphan"... the goal is to encourage kids to participate with their parents and families in games, flexing those creative muscles, learning what holds their folks' interest for so many hours.
It will include even more creatures, including ones illustrated by Industry Name designers and artists, and/or THEIR KIDS. We already received beautiful work by our friends at Bastion Press and Looney Labs, and are trying to secure permission to use the art that other artists doodled in the girls' personal copy of the book.
It will also include a small adventure written by the girls with a guideline on how to write a module, and of course blank sheets for mapping, characters, and create-your-own monsters.
More details to come (check the Ambient site later this week)- if you're an industry pro who would like to donate their talent (for example, helping write an article, or donate a drawing), please let me know. Deadline for submissions is October 1st. Anyone contributing receives a free copy of the PDF, and has their name credited (wait til you see the Section 15 on this one!)
We want to keep this a PDF only product, that way it is cheaper and more accessible, and once it's downloaded, multiple copies can be printed and shared amongst the whole family. We're sold out of the print version, so I guess all y'all will have to wait til November, sorry!
