Ampersand: Graz'zt from MoP

As it stands, the flavor is pretty darn sparse. The stats wouldn't be of much use to me regardless of edition, and the backstory doesn't really impact me because I'm not using the 4e generic cosmology. Good ideas I could lift even if from a completely different cosmology and effectively different character, but there's nothing meaty (or fluffy if you prefer) in the preview.

The bolded part seems to imply that you play 4e, is that correct?

Well, lets hope that the 4e MoP has more flavor text than that preview,

Well, since the preview explicitly says it is a small subset, you hopefully won't have anything to worry about.

(and I'm pretty sure that anyone who really likes early backstories for Grazzt can easily use older material instead, right?)

I haven't really paid much attention to the demonlord before, my group isnt into planar travelling or high level play. But it is a nice snippet. I think I prefer him to Orcus.

Yeah, seems like a simple editing error: +6 and 3.125.000 gp

Ahhh makes sense. The +63 was really hurting my brain.

I like the look of him, to be honest, in terms of stats and the implications of how to use him. But I agree that the artwork presented is a bit underwhelming - hopefully we'll get a full-page spread a la Orcus to go with him. :)

The new cosmology is getting more interesting too - lots of hints and thoughts behind the history of the world, but not quite so clear and laid down as before. I can imagine that the Primordials would have something to say about Graz'zt living in the Abyss - I bet he spends some of his time trying to keep them away, in fact, as much time as he does dealing with epic heroes, gods, other demonlords & creatures of the Elemental Chaos.

I don't understand why people think that demons can't have schemers or seducers. Why can't both sides use subterfuge and seduction towards separate goals. A devil would convince a mortal to seek more power or help create / instigate a pogrom. A demon would convince a mortal to murder every in the city with red hair and side-burns, or just kill every they meet with the name Howard. Devils create tyrants, demons create serial killers. They aren't dumb, just chaotic. Where did this idea originate?
