And down goes Ken Jennings...

I just happened to turn Jeopardy on about half way through last night, and decided to watch it. I usually only watch it once every week or so, but have grown to like Ken. It was amazing to watch and see just how much he knows, on just about anything. Last night was a surprise to me, I'm glad I watched it. My wife and I were speculating on the possibility that he could be a potential replacement host should Alex decide to retire any time soon.

EVERY time I watched Jeopardy when Ken was on it it was always some wierd collge tournement or something like that. I never actually saw him on.

Despite the fact that he seemed nice, was clearly smart as all get out, and is giving 10% of his winnings to his church, Ken annoyed the crap out of me for some reason. I'm not sure why. I'm probably just jealous and/or generally misanthropic. :p

Without looking at what taxes will take out, he got a good bundle.

Tonight I am rooting for a Mr. Nathan B.!!!! Go Nathan!!! That would be sweet if the one who beat Jennings doen't last but one week :)

I had heard a very random rumor (maybe it was just a wish) that Jennings, when he finally did lose, would end up taking over for Trabek(sp?)?.......

Count me as another who liked him, and is disappointed to see him go (though I, too, knew his time was up, and nothing lasts forever anyways). Ratings goldmine indeed - he was one of the only reasons I regularly watched.

I'll look forward to seeing him in the next Tournament of Champions.

I thought the reaction of the crowd (and the one who beat him) to be very nice.

I really enjoyed rooting Ken on, but the strain was starting to show. It looked like he wasn't enjoying it as much as he used to, and the connections weren't being made as fast as usual, especially on this last show.

I'm glad he went down fighting, and I hope it's not the last we'll see of him.

Upon watching the episode, my family and I agree: he took a dive. EVERYONE knows the H&R Block thingy.

One reason why everyone knows the H&R Block thingy is that a rumour was floating around the past several months that that was the question that stumped him. It rapidly became the trivia question du jour, and generally without attribution. I must have had a dozen people ask me that over the course of a couple weeks (being known as a trivia freak is a curse sometimes).
