Strixhaven is an upcoming D&D setting based on the recently released Magic: the Gathering world, and features a mage school -- as Theros was to Greece, Strixhaven appears to be to Harry Potter!

Man, I wish it was tomorrow already.

I wonder though, if we will officially get WoTC Bearfolks and Dryads as Lineage options in the Strixhaven UA.

if they have the courage to release this as a "Everyone is playing a spellcaster" setting.

That would completely ignore the lore of Strixhaven, which has several creature cards that are non-magical warrior types in a "defend the school" role.

This is also another reason why comparing it to Potter is lazy. It's much more Winx than Potter, especially in this aspect.

To be honest, quite a mix of both really. I'll be shocked or sad if Strixhaven doesn't get a nice Alternative Cover. Then again, Ravnica didn't get one, but Theros did. So it could be a 50/50 shot if Witchlight takes the Alternative Cover slot and Strixhaven doesn't.

See, my thinking is that for most of the multidinous anthropomorphic animals in Strixhaven (it's Narnia levels, seriously), if the book mightninclude something like the Tasha's custom Lineages with a bunch of animal traits that can be mixed and matched.

Sounds like it would be a crap ton better than the actual Custom Lineage rules in tashas.

The vast majority of people on Earth, when they hear "magical school sourcebook" are going to think "Harry Potter." Everything we've heard so far is marketing, which is about introducing the product to customers.

"Hey, it's like a cartoon you may have never heard of and a kind-of hated Netflix show" isn't the best foot to lead with in marketing.
