The party advances to the entrance of a large chamber. In the center of this chamber, a cesspool of filth and offal, is a strange sight. An misshapen Otyugh writhes as a handful of small blue creatures appear to be trying to calm it and ease its pain. The thing bulges and warps as the PCs look on. For a moment, it chews on something in its gaping maw and as it gulps it down, the party realizes it was one of these blue creatures.
[sblock=Perception 28]There are bits of a human body floating in G15/H16[/sblock]
GM:
The party has scant moments to discuss what they see. There's enough time to quickly whisper a direction or suggestion. The party hasn't been spotted yet, but the motley is aware enough of their surroundings that you'll not catch them by surprise. It's almost like they're expecting you.
Toeto stops and gapes at the sight. She whispers, "Maybe we should come back when it is finished eating." But she then shakes her head as if to disagree with herself. She raises her mace and totem, ready once again for a brawl.
OOC:
Toeto has no melee abilities, so she'll be fighting at the back of the corridor again. Maybe I can give everyone some DR if we're bunched up together at the start of the fight.
[sblock=Eithal fails Perception as well]1d20+8=17. Like I really had a chance...[/sblock]Eithal leans over and whispers to Toeto, "Whayel iff'nee et thayat blew thingie, he cayan't be awl thayat bayad." As it stands, the comment is probably enough to distract the warden from preparing for the inevitable skirmish.[sblock=Initiative]1d20+3=12[/sblock]
I'm off in the woods whacking people with sticks for the weekend again. I'll be gone from early this afternoon (EST, so about 10 hours from this post) until Sunday evening. Feel free to discuss stuff IC until I get back, when I'll roll initiative for anyone that hasn't already.
Also, choose where to deploy inside the purple box. Forgot to mention that last time. If you're farther down the corridor, I can expand the map. The next column left is 0. I'll be happy to answer any questions between now and when I head out. Alternately, if the party quickly decides on combat, I can run the first round.
The perception check is automatically passed for anyone that moves into the chamber.
Scarmiglione stops short in astonishment at the sight while his companions are still moving. "What in all the heavens and hells is this?" he demands. "Here, now, you must stop these strange and unnatural activities at once and explain yourselves. What in creation can be the purpose?"
[sblock=ooc]Scarmiglione will begin speaking after his friends have moved wherever they're moving to. If this makes the speech completely irrelevant because combat has begun, that's fine. (Probably irrelevant in any case as it was a terrible roll.)
