Angel 5-12-04 (Spoilers, blah blah)

Well, don't forget Angel apparently tasted Drogyn's blood. That's bound to have given him a bit of a boost. I think that the illusion worked at the end of the episode; it was pretty much shot to give the appearance that we were seeing the same thing that the liason was seeing.

I have a feeling it will indeed be
Illyria or Harmony that will kick it next episode, simply because they are the least necessary to the team. Of course, part of me says it'll be an important person just to mess with us.

I put that in spoiler vision cause it is from the trailer for next week, even though it didn't say much.

I liked the episode. Felt good. I'll agree, though, that it would have been nice to have had the Circle introduced a couple of episodes earlier.

I really want to know what's up with Hamilton. Illyria lost a bunch of power, but not that much. Also, he apparently knew Drogan before the latter took his post at the Well and Eve never showed superpowers of any sort. There is more to Hamilton than is immediately apparent.

Speaking of the Hamiliton/Illyria fight: we never saw Illyria after the fight. The last scene of the encounter was something of a curb-stomp. I'm wondering if she got back up. My guess is that she is not dead -- though that's only because I don't see her story arc being done.

On the death, I could see it being Spike just in retaliation from Joss for WB forcing him to add him to the cast. I don't think it's anything personal with Marsters, just a final thumbing of his nose. For some reason, though, my gut says Wesley -- which is too bad since he's pretty much my favorite character, and about the only one I could see carrying a spin-off.

I hope they grab even more of the loose threads next week.

One of the guys they go after is protected by robot ninjas, etc.

And I did like Hamilton's particular style of beat down on Illyria. It didn't have quite the "the shows coming to the end, so I can really pull out all the stops" that the other Firefly crossover got with Xander, but it just FELT painful.

Like Jubei headbutting Lord Gemma's head through the deck in Ninja Scroll. :)

What I want to know is how Angel can fool the secret overlords into revealing themselves to him when he is sleeping with the innocent, sweet Nina the day before. As soon as he walked in the room I was thinking, "Well, there they are, time to start killing."

Especially when it was mentioned that it was a really good turnout and everyone was there and Angel echoed it. I wasn't sure yet until Joss came out and explained it, nicely linking it to Cordy, but still I was like, how did an evil organization exist this long being that careless around people with a bad case of the hero's?

Didn't they see Angel and Buffy play Faith and the Mayor? :D

Perhaps that's why Angel didn't attack them the moment he met them all.. A, he was outnumbered, and B, they were in a position of power, possibly with all their defenses still up...

This was really just Angel gathering the last piece of information he needed: their identities. Now he can track them down seperatly and kill them off one by one when at their most vulnerable...

Maybe so. But there's also an advantage to taking them all at once. If you go one by one, or wait for them to be at their weakest, eventually each consecutive one will be more alert and better prepared for whatever you have planned. Assuming that at the level of power they have they also pay attention to whats going on in the world.

Who knows, they might even have Hamilton on their side by the time he waits to get to them... But then, it's already decided and I'm sure it'll be fun to watch. :D

Angel seems to have gotten a bit more powerful, I mean he took on team Angel and pretty much kicked their asses, Spike included.

A few people mentioned this, but I'm not sure where you're getting it from. He got a few hits in then grabbed Lorn. Nobody's ass got kicked on either side. No fight between Angel and Spike has ever been decided that quickly.

is the final just going to be an hour? Or are they extending it? Nice episode, good way to breing it all together.

Sadly just an hour. Smallville and Angel both wrap up the season next week. It would have been nice to have Smallville wrap up this week so Angel could have 2 hours to bring it all to a head and resolve it.. I really can't imagine how we're going to get a satisfactory ending in 60 minutes minus commercials.

Spike cannot be the one to die, He's getting his own spinoff.

Either Gunn or Wesley dies. By bet is on Wesley. He has nothing to lose anymore. He's lost the one he loved most.

Gunn is too tenacious to die. Illirya...too anti-climactic. Harmony...uh..can someone say pointless? It wouldnt be mentioned. She's not "one of the team". Lorn, eh, I dunno. Why kill him off?
