Angel 5-12-04 (Spoilers, blah blah)

My Speculation?

ANGEL DIES.

The series is ending, he's got the most to both gain and lose, and his death would shock the heck out of EVERYBODY. And the fact that Buffy lived through her final battle.

Plus, they can always bring him back later if some miracle happens and there is an actual TV movie to think of.

I think you make a really good point about why Angel dying would work best, but at the same time I don't think we'll see that happen. Only 5 days and we find out.

I really want to know what's up with Hamilton. Illyria lost a bunch of power, but not that much. Also, he apparently knew Drogan before the latter took his post at the Well and Eve never showed superpowers of any sort. There is more to Hamilton than is immediately apparent.

I'm hoping he's a robot. *crosses fingers*

Speaking of the Hamiliton/Illyria fight: we never saw Illyria after the fight. The last scene of the encounter was something of a curb-stomp. I'm wondering if she got back up. My guess is that she is not dead -- though that's only because I don't see her story arc being done.

I believe I saw Illyria in the preview for the final episode. If I'm mistaken . . . well, Illyria just had an uber-lame death.

Spike cannot be the one to die, He's getting his own spinoff.

Um... what? Much as I like the idea, I don't think so.

Marsters is a bit of a fan favourite for casting as "Erik" Dresden in an adaptation of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files novels for TV. (In the novels, the protagonist is Harry Dresden. Oh well.) Marsters did the reading for some (all?) of the audiobooks. But that isn't going to be a full series, at least not yet. *cross fingers*

As for who dies next episode... hell, I don't know. Maybe Illyria sacrifices herself for Wesley. Maybe Spike bites it, maybe it's Wes or Gunn. I can see good reasons for most of these.

I doubt it'd be Lorne or Harmony, because they aren't central enough for their death to be that dramatically important.

And we've all seen Lorne die before (granted he wasn't DEAD dead, but we didn't know that at the time).

My guess is implied death. The episode will end with Angel and whomever else is still alive staring down the True Senior Partners. I magine most of the episode will be the heores killing the people from the circle. They made a big point "that everyone was there for Angels introduction". So, I figure Angel now knows who they all are and will try to kill them.

I agree the episode felt rushed. I'm sure it was. As I understand it, they didn't have all that much warning about being cancelled and had to come up with a series-ending plot in pretty short order. As to next week, I picture a coordinated attack with a separate Wolfram and Hart assault team being headed up by each of the guys in the office at the end of the last episode. They'll take out 5 or 6 of the circle members simultaneously, then go after the rest. I predict Wesley will be the one not to make it through. I hope his sacrifice is meaningful, though. If nothing else it may teach Illyria a thing or two about humanity.

I read on Jim Butcher's site that the reason that they're changing Harry to Erik is so people won't associate Harry Dresden w/ Harry Potter (Erik is suposed to be Harry Houdini's middle name or something like that).

I think either Angel or Gunn will be the one to go. Gunn just seems worn out emotionally and I think he might give his life to save someone else or prevent the plan from failing. Angel... Boreanez doesn't want to come back so I think it'll end up that Angel is tired of saving the world (kind of "give a man a fish..." it's time for humanity to start pulling it's own weight and if I keep picking up after them they'll never learn) and will pass the torch to another or others to watch over things. And like it's alredy been said, it's not like they can't bring him back if a story line entices him back into the role.
Why the others won't die is because the actors wouldn't mind staying around to play them. Marsters has said so lots of time and he'd be my first pick for who Angel would pass the torch to. Denisoff has played Wesley SO well this season and there's always a chance of him acting with his wife if Willow pops up. Acker has done really well this season too and there's so much more for her to do and to explore as Illyria. As for McNab and Hallett, they both done really well this season too, they are both pretty tough, they're both quirky, and they'd make great "side kicks".
So, there are my predictions.;) I'm actually kind of exited to see if I'm right or not and I'm kinda nervous too.
