Angelfire is out. Even distribution?

I bought a case (12 boxes) and got all but 12 of the figures. I was very pleased with the spread.

As it should be: You'll have every common - 4 times - every uncommon once or twice (half/half) and 12 of 24 rares.

I bought 2 cases and got all but 6 of the rares, my friend bought 2 cases and got all but 6 of them as well.

We also had a friend buy 1 case. Amongst the 3 of us (5 cases) we are still missing Trumpet Archon, Gaele Eldron, and I think one more that I'm not remembering.

Funny, that. I got two trumpet archons and three Ghaele Eladrins (now what to do with three Ghaeles, especially in Skirmish)

Seems from this thread that you can expect 6 duplicates in 2 cases.

More or less, sometimes, it's more, sometimes, it's less. I heard of people who had 9 dupes in two cases, others got two cases and had their set complete.

I got three cases this time. After the second, I was missing 5 rares. The third case gave me one additional rare and only doubles or even triples beyond that. That one was the Large Copper Dragon, though, so I'm fine :D

I've been tired of humanoid rares since Abberations where every freaking pack I opened had another stupid humanoid. If I weren't addicted, I would have given up.

But I have a bone to pick with the commons: Two dwarves? Two out of twelve? In an angel set?

Blame the stupid DDM game, or rather the stupid design that's built around alignment-based factions. In D&D the variety of chaotic-evil creatures outnumber all the chaotic-good and lawful-good monsters by about, oh, a trillion to one. So, get used to seeing dwarves and other humanoids, as well as lots of celestial things in every set because they have such a shallow pool of good guys to draw from, especially lawful good.

On a related note, I'm pretty surprised they never did the desmodu as a mini. Not too many large good guys out there.

And what is up with creating a whole new monster as a common? There should be a rule against that. Commons should be things you commonly need, not an entirely new creature you've never heard of.

What is the wrackspawn exactly? Is it another undead zombie stand-in? Does it have a unique ability of some kind?

It still does not explain why there are so many dwarves when you could do, hm... more gnomes! They would fit right into LG (and can always be brought into CG with the Cleric of Garl). We could also have a lawful elf or two (they are possible, and we do have a chaotic dwarf). Then there's the Aasimar (which is a standard player race at least in FR) and Genasi (which we only have one if my count is right - CG Fire Genasi Dervish). We also have half-elves, which are also quite rare, and could be LG. Even half-orcs can be LG (they don't all have to fit into the faction the figures usually fall, they're not "always" LG/CG/whatever)

But there are an awful lot of dwarves in the game, and only 4 gnomes.

Also, CE has tons of orcs, even though they could have other stuff: more humans, depraved elves and dwarves (and anything else, for that matter).

It's an outsider. It has fire resistance and induces pain with its attacks (10 damage, save DC 18 for half). It looks like a failed magical experiment. As it is a new creature not appearing in any rulebook, we don't have any background info.

Preaching to the choir, pal.

Well, they seem to have covered the various evil humanoid races pretty well. Orcs, goblins, hobgobs, gnolls, and drow have been pretty thoroughly represented.

Sounds pointless, so I'm sure it must do something for the DDM game.

Sure does, it aggrevates the hell out of a lot of people. Complaints range from "what is that thing, it looks really messed-up" to "why waste a common slot on this, it could have been a gnome". The inofficial name for the thing is "WTF".

Personally, I don't mind it. I actually like it, it's that poor guy who stumbled into a magical experiment in spite of all the warning signs. Wild magic can get ugly.

My friend bought three cases. He got (and this is where I nearly had a heart attack), 3 trumpet archon in them. He's only missing Pholech and Sword Archon. He also got 2 archmages as well. But still, the three Trumpet archons...I was floored.

I got two, will sell one to a friend.

I hope Underdark has some new lizardfolk, kuo-toa and troglodytes. And lots of monstrous vermin of all sizes.

Bought one case. No repeats on the rares and all commons and uncommons covered. That was nice.

Only one rare that has eluded our group and it remains unfindable in the city of Toronto as a single - the Phoelarch.

(anyone who cares to trade a Phoelarch or 3, PM me).
