Animal Lord question...

Maybe someone can clear this up for me. I was wondering why the Animal Lord in MotW (pg44) says "Though rangers, druids, and barbarians are the most likely characters to adopt this class, some arcane spellcasters (especially bards) choose to become Animal Lords late in their adventuring career."
One of the skill requirements is Animal Empathy: 6 ranks. Barbarians can't buy Animal Empathy since it's exlusive to Druids and Rangers. Why would they say Barbarians are likely to adopt this class if they can't meet a requirement? Sure, they could be a Barbarian/Ranger (or Druid) but it just doesn't make any sense to put Barbarian with the other 2 if you have to be a Ranger or Druid anyway!

For Flavor, that's all that stuff is anyway. It's just them trying to make the class sound a little appealing to other classes and to give one ideas for interesting characters.

This particular inaccuracy is fairly common among prestige class descriptions. In the description of the Order of the Bow Initiate, it says that powerful Paladins, Rangers, and Barbarians sometimes take the class. EXCEPT, you need Weapon Specialization to qualify, i.e., Fighters and Psychic Warriors only.

I take it as a suggestion, as in, "Barbarians might be interested in this PrC, although they have to take levels of Ranger or Druid to qualify for it."
