Animated Avatar Help

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make a animated avatar. I basically would like a avatar of Dr. Phibes that fades in and out from his normal look to his skull faced look. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.

Jasc's Paint Shop Pro used to contain Animation Shop (basically an animated gif maker) in its distribution. I haven't picked up a recent version (mine goes back to version 6) so I can't swear that it still does. they offer a full working trial version (no crippleware here) for 30 days. Should be enough time to make your avatar.
