but I was really creeped out at how the humans (we) got our arse's handed to us ... and it seemed like we derserved it.

okay, heat and radiation may not affect the machines to much ... but what about a massive EMP? ... unless some of their bigger/more important units and infrastructures were shielded.

and I felt kinda bad for us, I mean most stories are about human perserverance (sp) not human damnation.

I really wonder how the machines could win agains humanity.

They had nothing but a really big city which got nuked by so 10 nukes. Ok, heat and radiation doesn't harm machines, but isn't a EMP shockwave also a side effect of a nuke?

Ok. The machines go on and Dark Storm was launched cutting the machines of from their power source. How could the machines go on without power? They invented human batterys after the war, not while it was raging.

Also Squids were portrayed as very powerfull but in the Matrix you can easily destroy one (EMP). So why didn't humanity drop some huge EMP on the machines (Or thousand small emp emitters)?

When you are desperate enough to darken the sky, you won't hesitate to fry some of your machine with an EMP too when you can defeat the enemies with it. It didn't have to be a strategical EMP. Small units with EMPs with a range of about 500 meters could have stopped the machines just fine. (Like the hovercrafts with a bit bigger EMP weapon)

as for blocking out the sun, I'm guessing the machines had enough reserve power to keep going until the could fully use people ... and maybe enough alt fuel sources for the time being?
