Antoine Fuqua Owes Me 2 Hours

The worst part of First Knight is that Julia Ormond's beauty is wasted in that dretch...

Lancelot for me is Nicholas Clay or Jacques Futrelle. (a cookie to whomever gets the first part, a box of cookies for the second one).

Your complaints are usually applied to any and every Arthurian movie that has been done. Most folks like Excalibur...yet they have super-goth full plate on in that POS. And then there's First Knight...My personal favourite not because of the movie itself, but because of the groans and anger that it engenders from people becuase they hate that movie so much.

Actually, his complaints don't apply to any Arthurian movie other than this one. That's because Fuqua's King Arthur obnoxiously trumpeted itself again and again as the first story of the "real" Arthur. Which, as Mark explained very thoroughly in his original post, is total hogwash.

If you're going to sell a movie and market it as being historically accurate, it better at least make a darn good effort at being such. Fuqua's Arthur was about as accurate a representation of 5th century Britain as the D&D movie.

Excalibur, on the other hand, was straight from the pages of Malory and Tennyson. It made no pretenses of reality. It was highly stylized and deliberately mythic -- and roughly 100 times as good as King Arthur, IMO.

I haven't seen this movie yet but I'll rent the unrated DvD if there is at least some Kiera Knightly nakedness. Is there?

Yes I am an old perv thank you very much. :)

No, and thank goodness for that. It'd be too much like looking at an ironing board with long hair and nipples.

Ironing board I can handle, I like 'em skinny. And long hair is a plus. I personally haven't found anything in the upper torso area that is unsatisfactory.

You must be a "D-Cup" man? :)

Not necessarily. I just think a woman should look like a, well, you know, a woman, instead of a flowery 14-year-old boy in drag.

I have this one, and I have no idea why it is called 'unrated'... there's not anything particularly adult about it. If it was shown in the theaters, it'd still be PG 13
