D&D General Any Houndfolk species suggestions? (I also offer a homebrew idea draft.)

I mentioned in another thread that I really want a good houndfolk species to use, but I'm posting here to not derail that thread. Anyone have any 3rd party suggestions that I can actually review before buying? As for what I don't want, I'm not looking for a species that is tied to wolves specifically, or that has inherent magic like the Humblefolk species, or that is a shapeshifter. The Shifter species design is close to what I want, but the shifting mechanics are temporary and take up too much design space, so reskinning it doesn't work. I also want all canine themes.

To add value to my post, here is something I put together that is pretty basic, focusing on skills and Expertise, and some traditional canine themes.

Houndfolk (Hunderkin)
Size: S or M
Speed: 35 feet
Darkvision: 60 feet
Keenest Senses: Proficiency in Insight and Perception
Hardest Worker: Expertise in one skill that you are proficient in.
Houndfolk Lineage (Something to "choose from"):
  • Big Dawg (Size M only): Powerful Build; Proficiency in Athletics and Intimidation.
  • Guardian/Protector: Can use Reaction to give disadvantage on one attack roll against adjacent ally; Proficiency in Intimidation and Medicine.
  • Helper: Can Help as a Bonus Action; Proficiency in Persuasion and Animal Handling
  • Runner: Can Dash as a Bonus Action; Proficiency in Acrobatics and Athletics.
  • Tracker: Can Search as a Bonus Action; Proficiency in Investigation and Survival.
  • Worker: Can Utilize as a Bonus Action; Proficiency in 2 skills and 2 tools of your choice.

The only canine-people in a dnd-alike I know of offhand are Starfinder's Vlaka - they're kinda wolf-folk, but not particularly wolf-like in theme.

Other than that, my main suggestion would be to call them cynocephaloi, which is the ancient Greek name for dog-headed people.

3e's Bastion Press had a race of dogfolk called the Dover. They resembled anthropomorphic German Shepherd Dogs.

Has anyone watched the Road Rovers cartoon? curious The Madrai now remind me of them. :p
