D&D 5E Any info on next release?

Also the clues to the next thing are in the current thing, right, that's what Chris Perkins has hinted at.

That was certainly true with regards to Princes of the Apocalypse/Elemental Evil products. The core books (at least the Monster Manual) had too much mention of "elemental evil" for it not to be hinting at something.

Did Princes of the Apocalypse have similar hints about demons and the Underdark? (I don't have the adventures.)

If so, the best guess would come out of reading carefully through Out of the Abyss, and noticing what seems to get more than its expected amount of mentions. (For best results, apply to a brain saturated in decades of D&D lore.)

I don't think the clues are meant to be as obvious as that. Think more along the lines of Pixar's habit of inserting little easter egg clues about their next film in the preceding one. So like with PotA, I'm pretty sure the only connection it has with OotA is the fact that Vizeran DeVir - the drow archmage who helps the PCs defeat the demons - is the one who created the elemental weapons that the four prophets use to open their respective elemental nodes. That and maybe the fact that the Fane of the Elder Elemental Eye was originally used by the drow.

It's interesting you should mention there being clues to the Elemental Evil storyline in the Monster Manual. I would've thought they'd appear in the Tyranny of Dragons storyline, but I must admit that I'm not aware of anyone having noticed any such clues in either adventure.

As for Oota, I haven't had a chance to read it cover-to-cover yet myself, but when I do, I will have to keep an eye out for clues ...

The drow wizard that helps solve the demon problem also created the Elemental weapons for PotA. Expect him to show up more as he seems to have plans.

Monte Cook Games doing the Far Realm might be interesting: the core books mention Firestorm Peak several times.
In his AMA here, Cook really seemed uninterested in working with/for WotC.

Wasn't Green Ronin stupid busy already when they took on their AP? Same with Sasquatch? Or did the actual work fall into a lull that nobody noticed?

Who is a bit quiet now or has been recently? Or who would drop everything and jump at the chance to do giants? Or a crashed spaceship? I could see Goodman games being lured by the crashed spaceship.

Green Ronin was busy. And PotA missed GenCon and SCAG was apparently also late.
Sasquatch was between projects have finished or just finishing their first book. Unsure about Kobold Press.

It'd be neat to see Margaret Weis Productions do something. Kenzer of Hackmaster fame could be neat. I would love to see Monte Cook return to Plabescaspe but that seems unlikely.

I would've bet cash money against Green Ronin doing an AP, so who knows with the right offer?

Perkins has said the core books have specific clues to many of the APs they have planned.

Ah. Well then it's all about Asmodeus. The guy gets more press in the core books than everyone else combined. He was just one villain of many pre-4e, became more prominent in 4e, and now it seems like they want to make him be The Devil, of D&D, the multiverse's BBEG. And I'm just talking about Asmodeus himself, not even the way disproportionate coverage that the Nine Hells gets.

Do you remember where he said that? I thought he'd said that each adventure (rather than the core books) had a clue to the next adventure in it, but I could be misremembering.

Some Twitter he said they had down the seeds all over the core books, like yeah, Asmodeus. They bring up some adventures of old, like Firestorm Peak or the Rod of Seven Parts multiple times across the three.

I recall him saying something about seeding future stories in the books, but I don't recall if he limited it to the adventures or the core books.

As for who they'll work with on future adventures, must it be an RPG company? He mentioned working with the creator of Adventure Time on an upcoming story, so why not something similar? People who are used to creating in other avenues like TV or comics would likely be excellent choices.

Yeah, it's not as if they know, for instance, novelists who have worked on both fiction and gaming material for them in the past, who would love to be involved in something like this.

Nope. Not a one. Not... one...
