Any new music/ambience/SFX software out there?

For years I've been using http://softrope.net/ to play background music and sound FX at my table. It's nice because it allows custom playlists and you can control the volume of each sound independently (which oddly enough no other audio playback program did at the time). Unfortunately it has not been supported for years which is a real shame.

I just recently installed the latest https://syrinscape.com/ since I have not checked it out in years. I was blown away by how far it has progressed since I last installed it. It's absolutely beautiful and it apparently provides independent volume control. I was so excited with the thought of moving over to it and recreating my playlists using its custom tools until I actually tried to create a custom playlist using my own massive mp3 collection I have put together over the years.

Wow, so I have to pay a subscription fee just to customize the audio? Maybe I'm mistaken, but I also can't import my own audio? I know I'm used to using free audio players, but I would probably pay a bit for a player that did what I needed it to do. I definitely am not keen on subscriptions though. But come on now. I have to pay a monthly fee to use my own mp3's with Syrinscape? That's really disappointing. Even paying a flat fee for a piece of software that is already provided for free seems really crappy when I just want to use mp3's that I already own and will be doing all of the legwork to create playlists.

Is there any new audio software out now that can handle independent volume control with multiple playlists? Free would be nice but I'm willing to pay for something that works well for RPG background sounds.
