Any sourcebooks for Egyptian style play?

Don't forget to check out the old "Desert of Desolation" set of adventures. You can probably get those cheap as a download from Paizo, or from auction. Not 3.x but useful otherwise.

As it seems again noboby wants to touch an Avalanche Press book. But Heliopolis their egyptian themed sourcebook is quite deep content-wise and still playable from a FRPG-Perspective. Hell, I even like the cover.

I also like the Avalanche Press book. Its main problem, as with many of the other AP books, is it's too ambitious. You have Pharoah and Avatar prestige classes, which should give you an idea of the power level, and campaigns involve political machinations in the Pharoah's court. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of effort to either adapt to a more conventional setting or to set up a campaign as the writers intend.

I also like the cover. :]

Mesopotaimia is one of the finiest supplements I've ever owned. I've got my current CONAN -D&D campaign set there. It is NOT Egypt however. It's "mesopotamia."

My resources for Stygia (fantasy Egypt), the kingdom just south of Shem are:
* HAMUNAPTRA - The ONLY Egypt fantasy supplement AFAIAC.
* Deities & Demigods (3.0)
* Stygia (there is very little substance and some ethics-in-gaming issues) I would NOT recommend it for a NON-conan game.
* Conan: Road of Kings (Stygian section)
* Conan RPG (we don't use the rules, but use the fluff) - Stygian section

If I were going to run an Egypt themed game, I'd use Hamunaptra and Ancient Kingdoms: Mesopotamia. While AK:M isn't Egyptian, it's roughly the same time period and as others have said, it's an excellent sourcebook. The chapters on The Red Waste (desert) has really useful encounter tables and nifty adventure ideas.

I will also agree that you should not spend your money on Deities & Demigods unless you can find it *really* cheap. It's one of the worst books WotC has put out for 3E, IMO.

Well put. Other than the artwork, the supplement is pretty much useless except for the 5% of gamers who "do epic"..and even then... It could have been so good.

Actually, I do find usage of the "children of Set," and the Khopesh...
