I might get in trouble for this, but paladin mounts are now giant toads.

I think that's a huge mistake on WotC's part, but we'll see how this change is received.

Well, since you spilled the beans I guess a little more info can be leaked . . .

As toads, the paladin gives his entire party a +2 bonus to Con.

I am hoping it's going to be one of the following:

1. Celestial Companion (like the Holy Liberator) instead of Bonded Mount so that it would be more useful in a dungeon environment.

2. More uses of Smite Evil per day.

3. Ability to swap out Remove Disease for other effects.

4. The return of some kind of Protection from Evil effect, either in place of or in addition to the Aura of Courage.

I heard a rumor that they are going to get slots for bonus feats, ala the fighter class, at a slower rate then the fighter gets them.

So they get a bonus feat at 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th...

Of course, this is just a big rumor.

Cedric

Where'd you hear that?

Whatever the case, I like it! Might be more appropriate if Paladins had to choose out of a list of Feats tailored more for Paladins rather than the Fighter Feat list. Maybe Bonus Divine Feats, like Divine Might or Extra Smiting. That way, anyone who wants more Smite attacks can use those Bonus Feats to take more Smite Evils'. But if you don't want more Smite Attacks then you can do other stuff. That'd be cool.

Anyway, heading back on to the world of hard facts, I only know of one thing about the 3.5 Paladin. Namely that he's STILL got the multiclass restriction.

I really think they should get a sneak attack, maybe +1d12 in place of each of those remove diseases, it makes sense, and everyone knows they're already an underpowered class.

Yeah! Finally another "the paladin is shafted and sooooo weak" thread!!!

I missed them. Soooo much.

I like the sound of this news. Paladins need something other than more uses of Remove Disease at higher levels.

This seems as good a place as any to ask for comments on my proposed feats to enable a Paladin to swap out uses of Remove Disease for other spell effects in this thread.

It wouldn't mind seeing the alignment opened-up a bit, as a single alignment seems pretty confining for a core class.

More smiting would be good too. But not too much.
