Anybody Becoming a Fast Forward Lifer?

That would be Athina(yes that's how her name is spelled) Onnassis, Angcuru.

And whoever snags her(and gets her to the altar without a Prenuptial Agreement) is the luckiest SOB in the world. She's 18 years old and for her 18th B-day, she inherited 1 billion dollars. When she hits 21, she gets 2 billion more.

For the record, I'm planning my trip to Greece now.:)

Any one going for it?

It's kind of a strange idea, IMO. Not necessarily a bad one in general, but certainly a bad one in the case of FFE -- their stuff has never looked terribly good to me.

Knowing you, you plan to get a divorce the day after the wedding and go live the high life, empolying a harem full of catholic and jewish schoolgirls.:D ...and proceed to live in a cycle of gaming and screwing, perhaps both at the same time.

I know what our April Fools joke will be for next year: $1,000,000,000.00 for a lifetime subscription to our products...

All I need is one sale on RPG Now....

This reminds me of an old Dennis Miller joke.

"Two of crap is still crap. If they really want to screw you they will make you take home three of them."

This is even worse since FFE has to be the lowest quality product producer for D20 that is still in biz and putting products out.

FFE is one of those companies that I have wanted so hard to like just based on the talent of the people involved. Unfortunately I have yet to see a single product that really interests me. I honestly wish that weren't the case since I do have a deep respect for the past works of the people who are part of FFE, not the least of whom is James Ward. Needless to say, I gave this opportunity a miss.

You took the words right out of my mouth Baraendur.

I think WotC bought out all of those TSR subscriptions at some point. It was a huge paperwork hassle and I'm sure it was more cost-effective in the long run to buy out the contract than to keep paying in terms of product and manpower to maintain the subscription list.

Our group has a similar saying. The old Xenon pinball game let you get bonus multipliers (2x, 3x etc) very easily, but bonus itself was very hard to get. Hence:

"Two times zero is still zero."

Anyway, back on topic:

It looks like there are 18 book products on the FFE part of the website. They average around $25 each. I think FFE has been around since the beginning of d20, so thats 18 books in 3 years? A book every two months, not so unreasonable for a small publisher. I'll assume you get a similar payoff from the Pinnacle, Soveriegn and FanPro stuff. Lets do some math:

So, if you like 100% of their stuff, you recoup your $2000 in a bit over 3 years. If you like 25% of their stuff, the break even time quadruples to over 13 years. Thats a long term investment! ;-)

There were apparently a few who refused to be bought out. (And good for them, I say.
