Anybody Becoming a Fast Forward Lifer?

The words "barge" and "pole" spring to mind.

I once bought "Fortress of the Ogre Chieftain". Once bitten. Twice sarcastic, vengeful and bitter.

You poor man.

You would have been better off with my National Lampoons Vegas Vacation offer. We get together you give me half the money you were going to spend on Fast Forward products and I kick you in the privates.

In the end we both come out feeling better about the whole thing. :D

I'd consider promising to buy everything FFG releases for the rest of my life if they pay me $2,000 today. :D
Just to clarify -- this is FFE, not FFG. I might give FFG a second thought on this offer. I still wouldn't do it, but I'd at least think about it. For FFE, I'd never do it, though.

Lawyer sense --- tingling!

What happens if this company voluntarily ceases to do business?

To say nothing of going bankrupt.

Happens all too often in this business.

Seems like you'd need to get 75 to 100 products that you would've bought anyway before this starts to become a good idea.

I probably would sign up for something like this (assuming I wasn't buying a house this year, anyway) for Green Ronin. I'd do it for Privateer Press, but I'd be dead of old age long before I made my money back on it.

I would consider it for three companies:

WotC
Malhavoc
Green Ronin

Looking at it this way:

that's 50 $39.95 hardcovers
or 250 $8.00 PDF's
or 80 $25.00 books/modules/supllements

That's about 4 to 6 years' output for most companies, and about 2 years output for WotC - and I don't even BUY every WotC/Malhavoc/GR product, because I don't use them all.

I know what our April Fools joke will be for next year: $1,000,000,000.00 for a lifetime subscription to our products...

All I need is one sale on RPG Now....

You do that, and I guarantee that one Algernon Q. Thristwhistle of 6969 Yowtayamind Circle will e-mail you for sign-up details. ;)

Which publishers would people consider paying $2k to become a "Lifer"?

"Consider"?

WotC
WWGS (don't even care about the d20 stuff)
EN Publishing (the old Natural 20).

Malhavoc would be on there, but I'm not sure that Monte could put out the volume that would make it worthwhile. Quality, yes; but he's only one guy. And there's no guarantee that Bruce, Sean, etc. are putting out more books through his label.
