Anyone catch the new Spider-Man cartoon on MTV?

Think more along the lines of Sandman, the Scorpion, the Hobgoblin and maybe even the spider slayers... In any case Stilt wouldn't be bad...but Triple P...not so sure about...

Actually, IIRC, Paste Pot Pete eventually became The Trapster (or something like that). Got himself an actual costume and everything.

And, Sandman, Scorpion, and the Hobgoblin? Puh-lease! None of those guys are 1/10 as cool as Man Mountain Marko, the Grizzley, Frogman, or Walrus-Man. Now, those are some villains who deserve air time! :D

Alright I admit it, I don't follow many but the Trapster I remember...Think though of the ones you mentioned, Grizzely would be cool and possibly Frogman and Walrus-man. (Though obviously in a slightly altered fashion much like Electro) But what's this no love for Mysterio!?!

Actually, I think Mysterio is one of the coolest concepts. Even the costume can be cool, depending on who's drawing it (like Ditko).

But I doubt that anyone could make Walrus-Man cool. :)

I mentioned those guys in response to something I saw once on one of the Sci-Fi Channel's now cancelled talk shows (the one that replaced Sci-Fi Buzz). The topic was about how great Star Trek is and one of the guests said something about how we remember all the socially conscious episodes that dealt with serious issues like racism, but we forget the space hippy episodes.

Spider-Man and Batman have some of the best villains, but even they have their space hippy Walrus-Men and Kite Men.

Then again, didn't the last Spider-Man series have The Spot? Oy! :)

Yes...but the Spot was a guy that used interdimensonal power aka Black Holes to move around.

But returning to the issue at hand, I really, really, REALLY want a long term Mysterio arch. (Especially if it can enhance the Ditko verison. :) )

More correctly referred to as "Mort of the Month."

p.s. Paste Pot Pete is ten times more funny than The Trapster.

During the opening credits I saw someone that looked like Kraven the Hunter (sp?) so chances are good he's already been put in an episode (and the image for the opening was taken from his episode, etc.).

As for me: the graphics style will take some getting used to. But I did enjoy the story and most of the dialogue. So i'll give it a couple more episodes before I decide to not like the graphics altogether :)

Ick.

The animation seriously bugged me. Too many bright colors...and the characters just seemed to be floating around the environment, not in contact with it. And those opening shots with the city and cars driving around looked like a Gameboy game...

Methinks they spent too much time getting "big-name" people to do voices, as opposed to getting "good" voices. Though I must say it seemed better in the 2nd episode...

I'll keep watching it...and hope it gets better.... :)

Well no surprise about Kraven. He's one of the best spidey villians around. Also noticed we'll probably see Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin. So maybe a cross posting between Daredevil and Spidey.
