I've got an anonymous kid at school stalking me and harrassing me about my D&D hobby in general. Does that count?
Now that sounds like an intriguing story to me, especially since I'm a teacher. Care to expand on it?

Hotmail account, random username, no signature. Says "I knew our librarian was into Dungeons & Dragons. But you even made a page about it. :("

Except for the frowny face and the fact that it was anonymous it wouldn't have been so weird.

I wanted to reply, "So who is the loser here ... the guy with a fun hobby or the kid who is stalking his librarian?" But of course I just marked it as spam and deleted it.

I always talked about the D&D stuff with the kids in the hopes that it would become the subject instead of the anti-gay harassment that I inevitably got and that the administration decided was fair game because I was unmarried. I figured, hey, I'm a math teacher, I could always play off being geeky. :)

I got the same email. The return email address is from optimumdesigns.com but the sig at the bottom says Dogstar Industries Inc. I have no idea where they got my email address from since I use a different one for Paizo.

My connection with Dogstar was from buying DnD stuff on e-bay. I suspect anyone that got an e-mail has bought stuff from them there.

This is bad form but shows just how badly the 3 vs 4e is getting.

RE: Eric's stalker.

That's creepy, man. It has the whole 'D&D is a morally reprehensible hobby!' vibe going on. Maybe you should contact MSN and see if they can get a line on the guy, as stalking/harassment is against their ToS agreement.

What's this? I've won the Spanish National lottery! ...my goodness I'm rich! And to think I didn't even know I had a ticket! I just need to wire some collateral to collect the winnings...

Smart man. And thanks for the story.

All of my students know I play D&D and I even use my dice in class. They love it!
