I know it will not be out for a month or two but is anyone else excited about this game? I can't wait myself. Anyone with campaign suggestions? Thanks Maester Luwin

Not really, I am afraid. I thought the novels were fine (though I have sort of lost interest in them, given how long it has taken for Martin to finish the series), but don't really have a burning desire to see this book. I felt the same way about the *Black Company* book (I liked the original trilogy quite a bit, the subsequent books less so, but just did not feel all that interested in the d20 supplement).

Strangely, I *am* keen to see the new *Thieves' World*. Maybe it's just nostalgia (I remember the old Chaosium TW box set).

Still, I will definitely flip through a copy at my FLGS when it comes out. But right now I am only *excited* about the new WFRPG and C&C stuff.

I'm excited and anxious for it. I really really like the novels (and I just got the board game two days ago and really want to play it) and hope they do a good job catching the setting in the d20 version.

Hey M Luwin! Well, from the amount of time I spend on GoO's website, you know I'm excited :) In fact, I don't think I've been this excited since the release of 3e.

Enforcer, the board game is fantastic! In fact, I'm off to play tonight! It really captures the mood and feel of the books I think. If you haven't picked up the Clash of Kings expansion you ought too. By the way, my friends and I have played five times and I've taken the crown four times  The last time, they ganged up on me and spanked me pretty good. It just wasn't right watching the Lannisters, Starks and the rest of Westeros pick on the rightful King Stannis!

Hey Doug! Good to see ya again & good luck tonight! Enforcer I think you will be happy with the D20 version! You should check out GOO website for the D20 previews of the game. I feel they (GOO) have captured the feel of the books. I'm looking forward to the next preview by the way. Thanks Maester Luwin

I'm pretty much going nuts for it :)

If anyone would like to take a look at the game (there are 4 previews plus has it's own section in the forums) you can go to www.guardiansorder.com & go to the forum and/ or games section to look it over. I have started an alternate timeline campaign idea set in the year 195 (about a hundred years before the events in the books). Others also talk about their upcoming campaigns & general rules of the game. Thanks Maester Luwin

Honestly, while I was a fan of the books, I'm not sure what the appeal of GoT is going to be, at least for me. This isn't a judgment of people who do like it, but I'm not sure why I'd get that instead of just playing a d20 Past or Grim Tales game in a homebrew world of my own, or in Martin's world through my eyes. I don't know that we've seen enough of the magic system or the Others so far to have a good basis for mechanics, and while I do like the idea of playing in an all-human political-feuding era with ugly civil war, I don't know why I wouldn't just do that on my own.

Like I said -- not intended as a slam of people who are excited about it. I'm notoriously light on books, and I'm also big into homebrewing, so tie-in books for existing worlds are probably a hard sell with me to begin with.
