Anyone got Dungeon 139 yet?

At least two posters have admitted to getting #139 on Friday, so SPILL THE BEANS! :D

Especially regarding the preview of #140 and the editorial --- which supposedly discusses the next three-part mini-arc.

Got it today, but I'm too tired/headachy to read through it. Will read it at work tomorrow and post thoughts after I get home.

Anyone check out the Savage Tides Players Guide Paizo is offering on their website? I'm waiting for the pdf myself since I can't justify the $5.00 shipping fee.

Also, the last issue of Dungeon (#138) had a good summary of the entire STAP. I saw mention of Orcus once but I thought the focus was on Demogorgon...?

It focuses on Demogorgon's plan, and himself, the creator of the plan involving the shadow pearls. But since Orcus is an enemy of Demorgogon...and the PCs need someone to distract Demogorgon while they slip into his plane, well you do the math.

Obscure,

I don't have it. But I do wish people would spill it here. :p :)

Still not yet.. I had hoped it would arrive Saturday.. but looks like I'll have to wait and see on Tuesday. Starting to get me very frustrated as to why it is taking so darn long.

I have it. I'm playing in a STAP game, so that section is sealed to me for some time. :(

Nightfall, while I know that Orcus is one of Demogorgon's primary enemies, I wouldn't expect that to crop up until much later in the AP - the outline of the STAP indicates that the first 1/3 involves getting the story set up, the next 1/3-1/2 takes place on the Isle of Dread, and the remaining 3 adventures (-ish) involve making alliances with Demogorgon's enemies.

Of course, you can easily insert Orcus into the storyline - my understanding is that there are quite a few undead in the first adventure, and further down the line. It's just a matter of taste. :)

For those that have Dungeon #139, any new monsters in the magazine by any chance? I'm a sucker for new/converted monsters. Thanks. :D

new monsters

SPOILERS -------

The Savage Tide's "There is No Honor" contains the rhagodessa.

The Maure Castle installment introduces a new demon, the "soul demon" which has a glasslike, transparent skull with burning abyss-fire within. They are minions of Orcus.

Dwarf,

YAY!!! :D You just made my entire week. I have something to look forward to when I find Dungeon 139.

GwydapLlew,

You should look at Wraith's thread about Savage Tide and my own useage of Orcus minion/Orcus in there at low levels. For example...you could just use a cleric (or some divine spellcaster) of Orcus to "guide" the PCs against the machinations of Demogorgon in this Adventure path.
