GURPS Transhuman Space also features an agumented reality. Very cool. Too bad it's not D20.

true, its kinda sad that both ogl cybernet and now d20 cyberscape both use old school gibsonian style computer interfaces...

do digital burn do so to?

I believe so, but my copy is currently sitting in a box in Hawaii, so I cn't check it.

thats sad, its as if they have looked at cp2020, gone hmm, and then tryed to recreate it using D20 without checking where the cyberpunk world have gone of to after that point.

its as if they think that cyberpunk is frozen in the 80's thinking of gibson and contemporarys. hell, even gibsons wirtings have moved on since then when it comes to the tech level...

How is Net navigation, combat and background done? Is it really a "Cyberspace" with virtual reality pockets, programs as monsters a la Cyberpunk 2020, or is it something else altogether?

Well ... the net-diving form of hacking/decking is a bit more known and popular. Augmented Reality is kinda cool, but they only had 96pgs. to cover the genre. It would make a cool web-enhancement however :)

That's what just about every major cyberpunk genre d20 product has done to date. for example, Digital Burn actually had passages that were lifted verbatim from CP2020's cyberware section and OGL Cybernet's classes are a knockoff of the CP2020 classes, right down to presenting a single "special ability" separate from the class features.

As for where the cyberpunk world has gone since the Gibsonian Dystopia is a matter of opinion. While we know all those authors as cyberpunk authors, fact of the matter is they're sci-fi authors first and foremost. It is bad to assume everything they've done since their first pivotal cyberpunk genre works has also belonged to the genre.

Pretty much VR as a seperate "dimension" with various programs to interact with like NPCs & Monsters

Ralts,

Any chance we could get some sort of "cyberzombie" from you? Not so much a pimped out guy who went to far with cyber enhancements. I'm thinking more a guy who has used technology to create the undead :D . Sort of the future's version of Frankenstein. I'll be waiting for your YOTZ meets D20 future PDF :p .

They did Cyberghouls and Cyberzombies in TORG and they were great fun :). Undead with mono-blades suddenly bursting out of their limbs :]. The technodemons would just come by and spray a cemetery with conversion nanos, and the next evening, shambling fun for the whole family starts popping up !

I really like the advanced computer interface in Asimov's Foundation and Earth - you put you hands on an interface serface and did all the ussual nueral interface stuff through those nerves because the hands are so rich with connections to be used as input channels. I'm not descrbing it nearly as elegantly, but the image always stuck with me.
