Anyone here ever have appendicitis?

'Cause if you have, I've got a question for you. Last week I went in to my doctor's because I had a sore stomache, and she thought it might be appendicitis, or maybe just a flu or something. She said if it was appendicitis it would get much worse, and I should go into the hospital for surgery. It just slowly got better though, and now I feel basically alright.

My roommate told her mother, who had had her appendix removed, and she said that she had abdominal pains a few times before she actually needed to have it removed. Has anyone here had that experience? Please let me know what your experience was . . . I'm hoping someone will say that's impossible

Can't say I know much on that ... but I had DEAD TONSILS. Seriously! The doctor called them "necrotic."

For some reason I thought this was awesome. I had zombie tonsils. It still freaks out Rangerwickett to this day if you say "necrotic" around him.

I went to bed one night feeling perfectly normal, woke up the next day doubled over in pain and unable to swallow anything without...unswallowing it, and ended up having the surgery that night. You'll know if you need them out. It isn't really a stomach ache, more like a knife in your right side.

That pretty well sums it up for me too. I had my appendix actually burst before I had it removed. I was doubled over and couldn't stand up straight because of the pain.

Unless you're one of the few people whose organs are mirrored, in which case it would feel like a knife in your left side.

I once thought I might have had it, but now I know the pain I felt was nothing compared to what it would have really felt like.

This was pretty much my experience too. Definitely not confusable with a flu-induced bellyache.
