Anyone Up to Running High Level 3.5 DnD?

Now I realize before I took my little break I was playing in a level 20 epic promising game but due to DM health issues and the HUGE amount of people involved the game died out before it had a chance to really shine.... I was hoping someone might again be interested in running a high level or even epic level game in 3.5 D&D once more....

any takers on running something?!

Weren't you the dude with the Golem in Leif's Hall of the Rainbow Mage, which died since half the players dropped out?

I was in fact the one with the golem yes... however that game was put on hold twice..... the game I was actually referring to however was Jemals Legends Game... which also died out because Jemal was having severe migraines and if you ask me the player base was FAR to big to make it an effective game with a balance of rp and combat.... but that's just my personal opinion.. on boards like these less is more because once you get upwards of 10 or so players things crawl sllooowww.. more so than normal for an PbP in fact :/... I was just hoping I could find someone willing to DM for myself and maybe 3 or 4 more in a high level game... either home brew or something else :D...

I wish I had the time on my hands to run an Epic game...but I simply don't. Though I had given some thought to trying to modify the old IM1: The Immortal Storm adventure module from Immortal rules to Epic rules. Maybe at some time in the future?

I have never played in a campaign that went beyond level 7. Epic (or even high levels) would be a whole new world for me. No way I could ever DM something like that at my current level of experience but giving it a shot as a player might be fun. (I would also like to try some of the not-so-typical sources like the Tome of Magic.)

I'm not hoping for something 'RIGHT NOW!'... anyways.. I'm going to meet the in-laws for the first time in NY over this coming week and Christmas.... I was thinking something like a new years.... "lets start '10 off with an epic bang" kinda thing.....

I was thinking something along those lines as well making a strait epic warlock or something to that effect..... would be nasty if you asked me.... but hey.. that's the fun of epic levels.... weather you stay strait classed or diverse..... it's always an adventure creating your character!

A high level game would intrigue me, but I can see why most poeple shy away from DM'ing one -- as it is a rules nightmare most of the time, as the PC's are so maximized and complicated, along with the monsters as well....

That being said, I'd be interested in playing one! :)

That's in addition to the power gamers wanting to dip into a dozen different classes or more. The only way to do it right, without most of the nightmares, is to limit classes to a couple including no more than 1 PrC. Trust me it gets rid of all the hurt feelings over one player that can do everything just because they have access to every book ever printed while others may not.

I've been involved in a couple of epic pbp games and none ended well. People love making big wipey character's but when it comes time to play them everyone just seems to disappear back to their lower level games. even the lvl 5 gestalt is getting iffy because of this unwritten rule of first come first served, which is not a good way to pick a group. The DM has to be able to devote a significant amount of time to the game both before and during.
