Anything on what's in the DMG II?

Hellzon

First Post
Something struck me. We can guess pretty well what'll be in the PHB II (more races, classes and powers) and the MM II (more monsters, heck, WotC could probably set up the tables of contents for MM 2-10 now if they wanted).

But what'll be in the DMG II? More magic items (wouldn't that be the Adventurer's Vault book)? 50 pages of example skill challenges (hey, not a bad idea) and traps (gimme!)? I doubt WotC can fill it up with rules and DMing help.

Have we heard anything about this?

More advice/tips/tricks, for one. You know, like ideas for props, establishing mood...

Situational encounters that might blend a skill challenge with combat. Like "You're in a burning building. Here's how to set that up."

Instead of splatbooks like frostburn, sandstorm, etc, rules for adapting environments and races to the new environments. World-building advice, ecologies and demographics, not hard and fast rules, but examples and suggestions.

That's a good question. I have a feeling the DMG3, for instance, might feel "optional" to a lot more people than the PHB3 and the MM3 (even besides the fact that it is for DMs only).

It will be interesting to see what they do with it.

I'd say:

-More Templates
-More advice/tips/ideas
-Alternative rules (come on WoTC made classless D&D rules)
-More Skill Challenges
-More Traps and Hazards
-World Building Suggestions
-Unique Properties (specific new rules to add into the core game)
-More NPCs
-More Pre-Made Locations

LARPing rules?

I'm kidding I swear don't hurt me!

Seriously though, I'm hoping they have a lot of rules for, say, exotic terrain and world types.

Maybe whatever they put in those Weather/Terrain books like Frostburn.

mini-campaign worlds

Hmmm,
Starting with DMG III, maybe dedicate half the book to a campaign setting, you know one that people would like but that can't get that 3 book treatment?

I mean, DMG I the standard stuff
DMG II hints, tips, optional rule type stuff +more of the same of book 1
DMG III, more of the same plus 75 pages dedicated to Al Qadim? or Mystara?

One can always hope,
