The question seems fairly innocuous on first glance, but as you look at the rules, things become unclear.
Basically, my question is boiling down to can a creature have more than one Type (Dragon, Elemental, etc.)? None do as far as I know. This is not a problem until you try applying certain Templates to certain creatures, such as Half-Fiend and Shadow to Undead or Constructs. This is fairly important and fundamental in determining which spells effect the creatures, etc., particularly those that have vastly different rules governing them.
I do want to stress this is strictly a game mechanics question.
