Arcana Unearthed would it unbalance D&D

The Unfettered has been added to my core class list with a minimum of fuss, and the Akashic will follow. Mage Blades I'm crunching the numbers and testing.

Magisters, on the other hand, are in so frickin' fast that its not funny. Of course, their method of magic is used on the other side of the world to where my characters are, so the PCs don't know yet. I know one player would jump on the chance to play one, as would I.

I'm using a mildly altered Unfettered in my Eberron game (mainly changing the skill list and bonus feat list to match D&D rather than AU, including some of the AU feats as well). I'm considering adding the Akashic as well.

Every mix-and-match I've done so far has worked out fine - and I've done quite a few, as both a player and a GM (Mixing races, mixing classes, mixing racial classes, mixing a class with some variant rules from Unearthed Arcana and Upper_Krusts CR system). I haven't done anything with the magic system yet, though.

Joshua Dyal has a pretty robust AU/core d20 mix-up going on - I think the website is here: http://jdyal.cheapwindows.us/classes.htm

Dr Spunj's system really gets down and dirty with mixing up the classes (and even the magic systems, I think) from AU and core d20: http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=82858

So go for it - it's fun, good, and good for you. Or something like that.

I need sleep,

I wanted to play a swashbuckler type in an incoming Eberron game. I first thought of making an Unfettered. But then I opted for an Urban Ranger (Unearthed Arcana variant), because it gets more skill points, get spells, and faster XP progression. The loss of Sneak Attack would be a problem, since the Unfettered needs wait higher level to get it, so just three levels of Rogue at some point could be perfect.
