Arcane Order and Cooperative Spell

First Post
I was interested in taking Mage of the Arcane Order PrC but it requires the Cooperative Spell feat. It seems to me, being the only wizard in the party, that I won't have much use for Cooperative spell casting. It seems like a wasted feat. Is there something to cooperative casting I am missing? Should I go to my DM and see if he would change the PreRecs? What might be a good feat to replace it with? And finally should I just suck it up and burn the feat? (is it worth it?)

Thanks for your help, if I'm slow to respond to your wisdom, it is because I am at work and have to sneak in to check the boards.

Well, some prerequistes are feats that people wouldn't usually take. This is one of them. That way you are paying a cost so to speak to take the class. Wasting this one feat is still worth that class.

You are right. I just feel that cooperative casting lacks any real value to my character, but I see your point, give up one feat for the PrC.

I know how you feel. I had a Dwarven Defender. I need Endurance and Toughness. In about 8 months of gaming I've never used the endurance feat. And the toughness feat doesn't mean much because my con is a 24, so hp are not a problem. It's just the way the prestige classes are set up. That way it's a more of a choice instead of asking, why wouldn't I take this class you need to answer do I really want to sacrifice this to take this class.

No. Since it consumes a memorized spell from every participant I really fail to see the point of it. Usually two fireballs would be better then a single fireball that has a DC of 2 higher. I can see very few instances where this would make a real differance, and enough differance to justify a feat? Gah. Poor action economy.
