Hello all,
A couple of players and I are working on a PrC for our campaign that essentially blends spellcasting with archery. The Arcane Archer is very weighted toward characters with only one or two levels of spellcaster, whereas our class would have some advancement in both spellcasting and combat. So far we have kicked around a number of very good ideas, but now we are trying to pare them down into a balanced, 10 level prestiege class.
Now to the question: How unbalancing would it be if we were to change the Arcane Strike feat from Complete Warrior to work only for ranged weapons, provided it were a class ability, especially if that ability were only obtained at, say, 7th level or higher of a 10 level PrC? Also, we were thinking of allowing any spellcaster, not just arcane casters, to be able to take this class. Would that combine to make things too over powered?
