I thought the jelly looked kinda cool, eating some poor fool. I'd rather have a jelly than my silly Unicorn. If you're ever in Oakland and want to get rid of the jelly.... ;-)

Other stuff:

I rather reluctantly bought one more pack yesterday; I was in the store already and even though the pack in question didn't feel particularly heavy I bought it just for fun. It turned out to be Aspect of Orcus, which just goes to show that weighing isn't infallible. Btw, Aspect of Orcus looks much cooler in person than he does in the picture on the side of the box.

1 case, FLGS.

Missing Rares:
- Paladin of Torm (meh)
- Champion of Eilistraee (meh)
- Unicorn (meh)
- Erinyes (DAMN!)
- Gauth (wazza?)
- Red Wizard (crud)
- Aspect of Demogorgon (damn)
- Vampire Aristocrat (crud)

Missing Uncommons:
- Xill (crud)
- Drow sergeant (crud)

Overabundant figurines:
- 5 catfolks
- 6 graycloak rangers
- 5 githzerai
- 6 stinkin' gravehounds. Seriously. I don't need more dogs.

As a whole, I'm, pretty happy. Lots of beasties, and not too many humanoids. I just don't know where to put the 300+ figurines I have now :\

Firstly: Thank you John Crichton for pointing out Gameoutfitter so long ago... I got my case from them on Thursday...one day after I even heard it shipped! Two big thumbs up!

I ended up missing 9 or so rares from my one case. This weekend at ConnCon I picked up 2 more boosters and got one of them, and I got 4 more through trading.

The only oddities I had was that I got 2 Vrocks (silly, cartoony looking. Blech. I'll stick to Reaper's), 2 Unicorns, and 3 Gauths...who are abso-dang-lutely hardcore in the mini-game. Wowza!

I think the quality has defintely improved on the paint jobs. The halfling ranger and wizard look FAR better than the cruddy Lidda from Harbinger, which is great considering their size.

Comments of specific minis:
- Silver Dragon: Buh. Todd Lockwood art come to 3d. Beautiful.
- Githyanki Warrior: Got lots of them and I am happy...they look great for not being a rare, and they are handy in the Mini-game
- Unicorn: Looks great, but why purple? They coulda done the manes a better color. My girlfriend (who helped me open them all up) held it up and couldn't help but snicker. :)
- Aspect of Bane: I love the mini. Doubles as an outstanding ogre-mage.
- Aspect of Lolth:Makes for a GREAT drider...and her reach of 3 is huge in the mini-game.
- Demogorgon: Somebody FEED that boy! He looks like he'd snap in two in a hard wind...and then the other demons on the schoolyard would laugh at his broken, purple and teal body...
- Ragnara (um..shouldn't she have mee Ma'vkarith or something?) Looks great! A unique female-warrior mini that makes me want to create the PC to match her.
- Githerazai: I have a million of em, but they are very accurate to the pic in the MM.
- Dragonslayer: I had to flip over his stat card to confirm he wasn't a dearf or something...must carry a big sword to compensate for his height (Ragnara is like a foot taller than him)
- Champion of Elistraee and Drow seargent: Both are a great step up from the existing 2-D drow minis. Better poses and paint jobs.
- Drizzt: It may be just me, but he had one of the cruddiest paint-jobs that I found...

Overall: I'm dang impressed. If they keep up the quality shifts, I WOULD pay more for these...but they better keep making improvements if they are gonna raise the prices...

No problemo, man. :)

They have done an excellend job with the preorders with these last 3 sets. The second the Giants of Legend preorder is available I'll be going with them again.

I've only bought 3 Dragoneye Boosters and two Archfiend boosters and I'm very happy with the randomization of Archfiend, and the minis look much better. I may get addicted if they keep getting better.

3 cases.

three guys in my group pitched in and bought cases which arrived yesterday. I'm the only one done collating, but I did pretty well:

5 missed rares, only one double:
2 Vrocks
no Paladin of Torm
no Erinyes
no Bone Devil
no Vampire Aristocrat.
no Unicorn

Also, I got 4 Halfelf fighters
4 Dragonslayers
and 7 Nothic

but no Evermeet Wizards
or Halfling Rangers
or Clerics of Kord
or Half-Orc barbs.
or Xill.

Not a bad pull, I think. Wish I had gotten all or nearly all of the uncommons, though.

1 Case, Ebay

The Good:
All the Rares but Unicorn, Erinyes, Gauth, Aspect of Lolth, Hill Giant and Vampire Aristocrat. The Silver Dragon & Orcus are sweet! Plus, at least one of every Uncommon and Common!

The Bad:
I can't complain (but I will anyway ;) )

The Ugly:
2 Paladin of Torm, 2 Champion of Eilistraee, 0 Aspect of Lolth and 0 Hill Giants.

Looking at what other people drew from their cases, I did very well in comparison. But for what I wanted to do, I didn't do very well. I'm not a collector trying to get every mini. I wanted to buy a case, keep the dozen or so that I wanted and sell off the rest booster box style on Ebay and break even. By the time my case arrived, the price has dropped out the bottom on Ebay and I still don't have two of the four rares I wanted (Lolth & Giant).

The Hill Giant is the rarest rare. I traded for one (an Aspect of Lolth, no less) and then bought 2 boosters that day. Guess what I got? A Hill Giant! Good luck getting one...try www.maxminis.com for trades.
