Are templates a part of 4th edition?

Do we know? I've been trying to keep up on all the news about the new edition but I'm sure I've missed a few things. Has there been mention of this anywhere?

Yes, they're in. They're supposed to be easier to apply, though -- fewer ability score changes, fewer numeric changes with far-reaching consequences outside of their core intent.

Hey Nifft. Where did you see this information? I thought I was pretty up to date on what's been released but I haven't heard a single word about templates. I'd like to check out the original statement (to see if I can glean anything from the wording, etc.). Thanks.
