Does anyone else think that WotC are just hiring bearded dwarf lovers or what?? The dwarves seem to have been given so much and the rest, well lets just say not a great deal by comparison.

Edited because it was a silly poll and off topic just like a nerfed cat poll but nothing said. Sorry for sarcasm 1 of my worst traits.

I'd expect an attitude like that from a half-orc! Hmmph.

Ed Stark's waiting for ya in the hallway, and he's got himself a hammer he wants to show ya. :)

Well, I'd hope the writers at WotC are dwarves! Those dwarves are hard-working, honorable, and can meet deadlines. Much better than those namby-pamby elves. Elves are wayward, shiftless, lazy, distractible, and go nancing about all day rather than work! :D

Dwarf power!!!

Definitely!

Seriously, though, dwarves are definitely more blessed in the benefits department. They break the very guidelines set by WotC in Savage Species - unbalanced ability score bonuses are an ECL +1 right there.

I'd like to predict now that the next edition (4.0? 3.6? 3.75? sqrt(14)?) will feature the epic Nerfing of the Dwarves.

Oh sure, dwarves get stat bonuses, and bonuses against certain races, and the totally broken stonecutting ability -- all worth at LEAST a +5 ECL...

But to counteract it, they're still dwarves. Just stand on a stepladder and you're safe. There is no canonical example anywhere of a dwarf having a positive Climb skill.

I guess what annoys me about the dwarf love is this:

When I ask myself if dwarves in 3.0 are awesome, the answer is yes.

When I ask myself if 3.0 dwarven racial abilities were inferior and needed love, the answer is no.

So why the love?
