Are there DR/untyped monsters?

It made me wonder if there could be such a creature as DR10/untyped. For example, only falling rocks or falling damage would be exempt from the DR.

Is this possible or too broad? Does such a thing exist? (I don't own MMIII-IX)

Wouldn't GRENDEL fall into this realm...some sort of DR/Unarmed or something?

There's several with DR x/-- (but those would take less damage from falling rocks, I assume).

"The numerical part of a creature’s damage reduction is the amount of hit points the creature ignores from normal attacks."

"A creature with this special quality ignores damage from most weapons and natural attacks."

Cave-ins and collapses are not weapons, natural attacks, or normal attacks; DR does not apply. Likewise falling damage.

So a giant throws a boulder/rock at the target & DR applies, but a boulder/rock falls on the target & it doesn't?

I think this is the part where someone mentions that the rules (aka RAW) shouldn't get in the way of the game.

For me, DR/- applies to falls and cave-ins. It's not like DR is going to save someone when they fall a couple hundred feet, and if it's a shorter fall, who cares if it helps?

If it's a weapon/attack in the first case, and not in the second, sure.
