That is a player problem and not a book problem. We use all the D&D books and never have problems with players playing their characters.

Yeah, you're correct there. I'm specifically thinking of the laptop-players in groups I've been with lately. Seems like ever since about 2002 or so, there's always a guy (or couple of guys) that are using so much material from so many different sources that they never peeks up from behind their laptops or stack of books. Sure, he's there for the entire game but nobody ever sees the player.

I use alot of material from alot of different sources when I play too. One of the things I do (trying to be a good player) is write up a supplemental sheet for my character, with all the feats, spells, prestige classes, et cetera that I'm using that aren't in the three core rulebooks. I keep a copy and I give one to the DM. DMs seem to appreciate it, and I find it's easier to reference my supplemental sheet rather than carry multiple books. The act of writing it out also makes me remember all the finicky details too, such as syngery bonuses.

Better yet, a very useful Monk PrC. That's RARE.

Yeah. I hear you. :)

The PCs IMC are currently in a hate-hate relationship with a Dragonfire Adept (though they think he's just some wizard).

His current charm target is the new Queen.

Can't wait to bust out the Five-Fold Breath of Tiamat. :]

Wasn't going to buy it. Bought it. Loved it.

It was much better than I expected. I liked the flavour of the whole book and enjoyed reading the Classes, Prestige Classes and Feats. And, hey, it's got a little bit of new warlock stuff! Yay!

For a dragon-themed campaign, Draconomicon stands head and shoulders above Dragon Magic for my dollar.

I agree, though I feel that Draconomicon was one of the best 3.5 books to come out of Wizards. I'll still get some use out of dragon magic, it spends too much time supporting concepts that I am not using in my game.

I got it as part of a bundle on eBay. Its individual price was slightly over $3.00 along with PH2, UA, and 9 Swords. I am surprised how much I liked all of them. Granted I won't use most of the material, at least as is. But the "concepts/ideas" are pretty darn cool and are things I will run with in my own way.

Plus paying only $3.00 and change does allow me to be lenient in my assessment.

I would definitely like to have you in my games. Very good of you to be a player who helps the game go better.

I'm passing. It seems to not have enough value for my game(s) to bother making a purchase and spending my (extremely limited) time going through it.

Untrue. Just in the past couple of years (and all in the 3.5 era):

- Draconomicon
- Races of the Dragon
- Dragons of Faerun
- Dragon Magic

Not to mention:
- Gargantuan Black Dragon mini
- Colossal Red Dragon mini
- War of the Dragon Queen minis
- Rage of Dragon novels

which is more than we've seen in a considerable number of years.

I have no idea why you'd say such a thing.
You forgot 3 Dragon Ante, which is a fun game, BTW :)

cheers,

I'm delighted to say I was wrong. This is, in fact, the best WotC book released in months. There's something in it for everyone, and more than one suggestion that could (and in my case, probably will) spark entire campaigns.
I'm still on the fench with this book, but I'd love to hear what you liked about it, Mouse :)

cheers,
