The best support for my group is Paizo's adventure paths.

There is always the possibility that Paizo would support D&D 5E with adventure paths or even dual-stat them or release two PDF versions, etc. Despite the Internet rage between customers of both Paizo and Wizards: the two companies have always got along very well. And Stevens and Mona are no fools. Why not expand their customer base and sell many more adventure modules in exchange for some extra editing time? The future could be full of many good things. I am hopeful anyway.

My game will follow whichever edition gives the most support.

Like I said, my game will follow where the support is. If I like the look of the final product over PF and Paizo, or any company for that matter, matches the support of Paizo's APs ofr 5E, then I'm onboard. But for now I'm a "No." Not a dissatisfied "No" but a "No" nonetheless.

And if anyone out there could put out a steady stream of good quality Earthdawn adventures I'd dump D&D like last week's garbage. :p

I'm pretty much ready. I like 4e the best out of all D&D's and it's got a real, real rocky fit with me. I miss things from 2e and 3e and 1e and BD&D -- with a lot of those being editions I didn't even play that much of! -- and 4e is a jealous game, from an official-product standpoint.

I'm ready to find a better fit. Eager, even. While 4e makes me happy, I feel like I could be happier with a younger, sexier system that gets me more and isn't so exclusive. ;)

I feel like this is possible, but it depends to a huge degree on OGL or licensing stuff -- stuff that WotC has been dead silent on. Probably, it's been smart of them to stay quiet until they have something to say, but we're approaching the release date of 5e pretty quickly here, and with nothing mentioned, I'm skeptical of them having anything at launch. My expectation right now is for them to be closed at launch, no license, no OGL. Which means that PF will still have the edge on support quantity.

If there are any potential surprises here, though, it'd change that calculus pretty quick!

I was wondering about the lack of this LAST summer. I hadn't followed it since. Given how close it is to launch I think that your skepticism is on the mark.

Considering the OGL was terrible for WotC in the long run, I doubt we're going to see it again.

I never knew much about the OGL, but it seemed to be a suicidal idea from an economics perspective. Essentially like handing over all your R&D over to your competitors and green-lighting them to make money off your products. How much money has Pathfinder made off WotC's investment in 3rd edition?

In what universe is this a good thing for a business to do?
