Armor and Polymorph

I have skimmed the posts and havent found anything that could really answer this.

Dragons have fairly sizable hoards which often include armor. I know that in Dragon form, they cannot use the armor.

However, when they use the polymorph self spell - into say a human, elf, etc. - can they use the armor? If they are carrying the armor as a Dragon and then polymorph, does the armor also polymorph? Do they gain the use of the armor if it does?

Furthermore, say they are in human form with the armor on and they then polymorph into a solar for example, does the armor again polymorph and can it still be used?

I am asking this to see if the dragon has to drop all his gear on the ground, then polymorph into his new form, and then pick everything back up or can he just polymorph and everything works likes it is supposed to?

If you polymorph into a creature that can use armor, then you can use armor. If you polymorph from one creature that can use armor to another creature that can use armor, the armor changes shape and size to fit.
