What´s the DR of a fighter with armor specialization and using a adamantine full plate? And a 20th Barbarian with armor specialization and a adamente breastplate?

Or useless when using adamant armour. That is not the same thing.

A noble salamander has little use for greater ring of fire resistance, but that does not mean that the ring is useless. ;)

Of course that has the side effect of making the high level fighter feat useless.

Assuming you're running around with adamantine heavy armor.

Which not all folks are.

Hence not useless.

I allow it to stack on the argument that it comes from very different sources. The feat is clearly skill-based. But that is certainly a house rule.

I thought there was an exception to the general "no stacking" rule for DR x/-- (because it's given out in increments of one or two rather than five or ten).

I'll look through the SRD and see if I can back that up.

There is no universal exception, but many of the more recent abilities to grant DR X/- explicitly say they stack with any other DR X/- that the character may already have. The DR granted by the Iron Mind prestige class (Races of Stone) stacks, for example.

Most fighter types would rather spend money on admantinium full plate for 3/- instead of spending a high level fighter feat for 2/-.

Now, unless you had REALLY good scores......high dex.....and would be better off with mithral plate......then yes.......this feat would be better than admantinium full plate, but in that case i simply wouldnt take it(DR 2/- doesnt compare to the other options at this level).

One wonders where you're getting that 'most' from, but whatever.

Personally, I'm a stickler for having my abilities not be fully dependent on my gear. As such I'd much rather take the feat because it can't be taken away from you.
