[art, hosted] DnD Iconics: Krusk!

Klaus

First Post
Hi, Kids and Kidettes!

This week I bring you my version of the Earl of Evisceration, the Duke of Dismemberment, the Baron of Beheading, His Royal Raginess, Krusk the Half-Orc Barbarian.

You'll be able to see here that my version of Krusk (and of half-orcs in general) is far more human than in most other renditions, which show little difference between half-orc and full-blooded orcs. Also, I increased Krusk's greataxe's length, 'cause he's gotta use two-handed. And I did the armor he has in the PHB, even though it doesn't look much like a studded leather.

Okay, your turn (yeah, I stole this line from Monte).

Sweet - IMO some renderings of half-orcs have just looked like Orcs - this is how I picture them too.

Great job.

PS: Mr. Pozas: I'm a big fan of your counter work for SSS/Fiery Dragon, and have bought them all, but I need XXXXXX to fill in some holes in my counter collection. Who should I lobby to with my creature requests?

Big Freaking Goblinoid: The one whose arm you should twist is Fiery James, either here or over at the Fiery Dragon messageboards. Just out of curiosity, which ones you're missing (I might have already done them in one of the Counter Packs or Adventures).

Dalamar: As soon as you color Ember and Krusk, send them my way. I'm assembling a full-color, to-scale Iconics wallpaper (yep, Lidda is THAT small).

Ashrem, Alaryc: Thanks! :)

I must admit, I was a little disapointed with your first attempts at "reillustrating" the iconics. However, Alhandra, Redgar and now Krusk are all extremely well done. I find they are dynamic, expressive and belivable.

I must mention that I enjoy much more you black and white drawings than your coloured ones. They have a more natural look that my eye finds more pleasing. Your choice of colour for the others give them a cartoonish look that I find bothersome.

That didn't prevent me from buying Creature Counters I though ! :D

Keep up the good work.

I really love your art Klaus, it is art like yours that make me try even harder to get my doodles look better. I would love if you had a look at my art threads in the Art gallery forum and tell what I can do to improve a doodlers quality in his work (in this case the doodler is me).

goes away so no-one else will see his tears
