Artifact Conversion AD&D 2nd ed --> 4th Ed

Hi there, long time listener, first time caller.

I'm running a conversion of a 2nd Edition Mini-Campaign "Curse of the Azure Bonds", effectively translating the parts of the campaign as the players reach them.

As a part of the adventure, the characters are intended to retrieve three artifacts in order to deal with the major villian.

What I would like is advice as to whether I have the power level of these artifacts about right. I realise that it depends largely on the particular group, but as a guideline I'm keen to see if I'm hitting the ballpark. Suggestions most welcome.

The party is 5 players, currently with characters of 6th level, soon to hit seventh. The sword has already been found, but not yet identified. The party will likely be 11-12th level when they have gained all of the items. So my goals are to add items that are pretty good up to that point.

What do you think?

Blade of Lathander:
Originally (2nd Ed):
Broadsword +3, blade is made of rose quartz. Created to slay Tyranthraxus.
Against Tyranthraxus sword becomes +6 to hit, 3-30 damage, and Tyranthraxus must make a save vs spells at -6 or be forced to retreat to the Pool of Radiance (A portal)

My attempt:

Sword of Lathander
+3 Broadsword Artifact
Properties:
Resist fire 5 (Tyranthraxus is a big fire user)

Encounter-Minor power regain HP as if you had used a surge (Lathander is the god of the morning, renewal etc)

Minor At will Damage becomes radiant (another minor to turn it off)

Standard at will Attack (+3) vs Vessel containing Tyranthraxus 3[W] dmg +
(Wisdom? Strength?)
Effect: Tyranthraxus must immediately make a saving throw or abandon current vessel, retreating to the Pool of Radiance.

At Normal + 1
+2 to Diplomacy checks
Resist Fire becomes 10

At "Pleased"
Aura 3 When an ally uses a healing surge, they regain +5HP
Sword becomes +4

Gauntlets of Moander
Originally:
In presence of the Pool of Radiance will activate, draining the pool in 5 rounds
Give wearer AC2
Function as guantlets of Ogre Power
+2 on saving throws versus spells
Allow the wearer to communicate with (but not control) plants
-4 to saving throws vs Moanders Magics

My attempt
Properties:
+5 to Nature checks
+2 to all Defenses
+2 Item bonus to melee damage
Standard action, Encounter Power: "Consume Pool of Radiance" Once per round the Gauntlets take a standard action to consume part of the pool. Sustain Standard.

Normal +1
+3 to all defenses against creatures with the plant keyword
Daily ranged burst 2. BUrst area becomes difficult terrain, any creature starting in the area takes 1d4+Wis Mod damage

"Pleased"
Encounter power, immediate interrupt rage 10
When an enemy is killed within range, regain a healing surge.
An additional +1 to defenses

Helm of the Dragons
I have not yet attempted this one, but it's original powers were:

Locates within 500 miles, the site of the Pool of Radiance
+2 to all saving throws involving Tyranthraxus
Allows the wearer to communicate with all dragons in their native tongue
Makes the wearer immune to any and all attacks by living dragons (but not dracoliches)
Provides AC2 to the wearer.

Cheers

If you are planning to have them stick around for a while, and collect several of them, rather than using the artifact rules, I would consider making them a unique group of "set items", where each time you get one of the artifacts, it boosts all the others owned by the group.

Also, since you know when they are going to get the items, it makes them easier to ballance.
