Another nod for Jason Engle. My personal fave is probably "Black Death" he did for Dragon (issue 308, pg 36). Great dynamics and a simple but very atmospheric background.

I add another vote for Raven Mimura. He's a local.

My favorite is from MMII of the Spellweaver, a mutual friend of ours who passed away. Raven's quite the character, looks like a Mongol warrior!

Whatever happened to Arnie Swekel, anyway? His chapter backgrounds were the best illustrations in a number of books, and his various imps from the BoVD are still being used as "clip art" (twitch). So why isn't he working for WoTC anymore?
