Atatas

I really think WOTC should stop trying to create new editions, it's just dividing the gaming communities and pissing people off. If they do create a new edition I hope it's compatible with 3.5 and Pathfinder. I also hope Dragon and Dungeon magazine make a comeback. That being said...

I'm cringing in horror at the idea of another edition, because I highly doubt it will even be worth the paper it's printed on.

Hey UK, I have a question about the atata template. Does waiting for your next release count as being time tortured? Because if it does there are a lot of atatas on this forum.:p

If its bad for you guys then I assure you its a hundredfold worse for me. :(

That said I should have the Vampire Bestiary done for Friday the 28th of October. Whether that will be the release date is another thing but hopefully it will be in around that time.

I have no plans for further 3.5 material (except the Nosferatu for Mr Satan as a web update) other than converted 4E material.

It'll be interesting to see how close to 4E a 5th Edition will be. I certainly think it will be MUCH closer to 4E than 3E.

maybe this is just my opinion but another edition in such a short time means that something is wrong, I consider that WotC lost more people than win with 4e just a guess, and though 4e was not quite to my liking has some elements that I liked, I would like to see that elements implemented in a system more akin to 3e which by the way Pathfinder did

Hey eduar mate! :)

I think they annoyed a lot of publishers with the GSL and I guess that peripheral support must have hurt sales in the long term. I also think that they rushed too many releases and didn't release enough adventures.

I don't see WotC going back to a 3E/Pathfinder model. If anything I can see them simplifying the game further and dividing the game into 'adjectiveless' and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

Incidently, I am working tonight (as I was last night) and don't have much time to post (I also want to get some VB work done), so I'll respond to all the posts sometime tomorrow night. ;)

Fifth edition, now this is weird stuff... I really didn't want the naysayers to be right, re: no Shadow Power book ever coming out, and Essentials marking the point where 4e clearly was in its death throes. Don't know how to feel about it. All I hope is that Animate Dead and golem-making and stuff will be present and core again.

I do expect the result to satisfy no one though.

I'm not surprised by the coming death of 4E. I anticipated it at the moment of it's conception. It created far too much of a divide in the gaming communities and that kind of problem annoys everyone.

Sometimes greed is a bad plan.

Agree when you put more interest in money than the game something is wrong, I know that this is a business but still when you lose the point of the things you start to fall and for WotC is not only for D&D is also too for Magic

Howdy Satan! :)

It's all crickets up in this XXXXX.

Understandable given my own procrastination in actually releasing anything and the schism between the 3E and 4E players.

Also not sure what controversy the Vampire Bestiary will stir up (probably none, even if it is a good book).

I have thought about a new website feature, an "Epic Encounters...of the Month" which I'll start as soon as the VB (part one) is finished.

Hey UK, would you have any objection to me periodically posting finished beings that were unfinished from the 'Gods and Monsters' book? Like Dabbat and a couple others?
